When I Am 80 Years Old
I do not have any inkling for a topic of a poem to write on,
When I am 80 years old, it will be a nice poem to say that I am old,
With the lost muse, everything will be come on.
When I am slow at doing my chores, I tell my kids, I am getting old,
They say, You are not getting old, you are already old,
When I am 80 years old, it will be a nice poem to say that I am old.
I take my grand kids for a walk around the park, feelin not that old,
They run, they laugh, they play, they wonder why I walk so slow,
They say, You are not getting old, you are already old.
At bed time, grandkids want me to read a story from the book, little slow,
I start to nap in the middle with a dream,
They run, they laugh, they play, they wonder why I walk so slow.
With my feet dangling in the grave, I thought I will be spiritual as per my dream,
After reading for a while the good book, my mind goes under a spell,
I start to nap in the middle with a dream.
When I walk outdoors, I watch the calm bay under the volcanic hills, sleeping on,
I do not have any inkling for a topic of a poem to write on,
When the volcano erupts, all my feelings, together with lava, will submerge in quiet bay right on,
With the lost muse, everything will be come on.
