Weathered Memories
In my minds capacity
lies the remnants of opacity
love in its frail physical form.
Raining outside chills run
up my spine, I try to conform
wrapped in your sweater.
Weather memories come
flooding back into the deepest
regions of my heart.
Then I was a prisoner
harnessed by your smile,
led often only by your eyes,
moved by your touch.
Totally captivated by your
being but still, we could not make
it through the storm.
Even though you hold a special
place within my heart.
I will smile alone as I weather
the storm wrapped in your
forgotten sweater.
