We: the Impossibility
I want to say that I love you
But each time I try to
I remember that...
I am just a girl and what you want
is a
lady, a woman
Someone who will bear you an army
of
strong men
One after the other
Tall strong and handsome
Not forgetting extreemly intelligent
Who will all carry through your
name
For many days and years the
same.
I am just a simple calculation
Maybe addition, maybe
subtraction, and
there, you have me solved
Not the challenge that you want
That will rob you of your peace until
Eureka point
And show just how intelligent you can
be...
No I am not that
I am as easy as the blink of an eye
Or the letting out of a sigh
And that, that is not good enough
for you.
I want to tell you that I love you
But every time I try to
I remember...
Love is not for the likes of us
Love is for them that have money
and
fame
Those that have a title to their
name
Like Mr and Ms and Doctor or
Priest
But poor paupers like us
Who are noted by their odours and
the
sight of our rags
Which we cherish with our lives
because
they are all we have
We are not made for love.
We just wait and pounce on the
slightest
opportunity that presents himself
Because he might just be the last
The last old man in the land that
wants
an addition to his troop of wives
Otherwise we just end up alone
Live and grow old
And be marked dangerous and evil
As says clearly, the custom.
I really wanted to tell you that I
loved you
I really did
But then just as I wanted to tell you
I remebered that...
You are way beyond my league
beyond my
level beyond my reach
That even with the strongest native
medicine
Love portions and all
You could never look at me the way
you
do the daughter of the king.
You are almost as scarce as the
fragments of my imagination
There but intangible
You are the work of all the gods
combined
Perfect in every aspect and view
Not meant to be tainted by the dirt
that is
me.
You probably do not even know that
I exist
So I shall keep it that way lest
lightning
strikes me
Hide the memories and thoughts of
you
at the back of my head so that I
can
always have you wherever I am.
I love you
But then again
'I' and 'You' can never make 'We'
There are already too many
letters to
begin with
None of which is 'W' or 'E'
One with two and one with three
Similar but different completely.
You and I are as seperate as the
two
ears on our heads
Never will they meet
Never will they greet
Never will they be at one point at the
same
time
Never will they fall in love and
become one
Because then there would be no
balance
The head would not be as beautiful
Most probably one ear will have to
move
and thus lose its functioning
And that can never be
So is the same for the two of us
I love you
But 'You' and 'I'
Can never make 'we'
For starters there are too many
letters
already...
