Waiting On a Soldier

She sits by the phone and waits For that one call destined by fate She wonders if she'll ever get him back Or if he'll leave by a gunfire crack She remembers the sound if his voice At first she starts to rejoice Then she stops and looks around Realizing that there is not a sound The house sits in silent reprieve All alone she starts to grieve He's far away on foreign land And she longs to hold his hand She wants to feel his arms around her If she ever will again she is unsure The phone rings confirming her fear She'll always be waiting on a soldier here

I have enjoyed reading your wonderful poetry today Jamie. I love poetry that is written from the heart as I believe that is where the best poetry comes from. I wish you a wonderful weekend filled with Love, Good Health and loads of Inspiration. Love, Carol
