Universal Holidays

Never had a Christmas tree
  or some mistletoe
No wreath of holly on my door
just a mezuzah there, you know

No stockings stuffed with candy canes
  or Christmas decorations
Never sang a hymn to Jesus
  Torah's my inspiration

Yet just as Christians can appreciate
  the flames of Chanukah lights
So too can a Jew like me
  sense magic Christmas night

Christmas is a wonderful time of year, the joy, love, sharing season, and remembrances. The Christian joy that I hold reflects from Israel. I so love the beautiful Jewish people Gershon, I thank them for the writings preserved in the Old Testament! King Davids beautiful pen throughout the Psalms I adore! The laws of our wonderful God given to Moses who was truly glowing with the power of God's Light. I celebrate God's beautiful people! Thank you for sharing this. Happy 2022 Gershon and Shalom <3

I agree with Jennifer and you gw. The God of creation is enough to celebrate. To each his own, as too how that celebration looks or how it is displayed. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year my friend, Bill

So so true Gershon, every religion respects the 10 commandments, and that is what brings humanity together - I respect and honor every man's faith, but not, if it is in the name of death and war. I enjoyed your write very much indeed. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Gershon, this one really touched my heart. I have always loved the Chanukah lights and have treasured many special times in the homes of my Jewish friends celebrating their Festival of Lights with all of its meaning. I even know how to spin that strange little top! And, I'm so glad you can find magic with us on Christmas night. A FAVE for me!

Glad this one resonates, Milt. As I always tell my ultra-ultra-ultra Orthodox Jewish brethren: 'What do you object to about 'Peace on Earth, goodwill toward men.' Usually they mutter something in Yiddish and walk away... They're ok, though. Just a bit insular. Thank you for the FAVE. Always a humbler for me. Holiday best, gw

Very nice of you to write these words about me. I hope I can live up to 1/2 of it in real life, off of the screen. That's where the rubber meets the road. Thank you so much for the FAVE. Always a treat for me. Season's best, gw
