Unbound Words
The power of words is limitless,
Some like swords,
And others like feathers.
Every letter able to stab or sooth,
Strike with fear,
Or fill with hope.
Every dot made from a pen,
Able to do wonders other than just be read.
Though like change,
We think we can bound words,
Stop the sounds,
Take the ink.
Sheath the swords,
Stuff away the feathers.
Some think they control what words are spoken,
To only hear what they want to hear.
To fill their egos,
But they are never full,
Always wanting ever more.
But I say now that words are unbound.
Like change they are a gift that can exact revenge,
A gift if not used properly,
Can lead us to our end.
So friend,
Think of your words,
Let them be free,
Let them fly like birds through the breeze.
Don't let the hunters shoot them down,
As many will come,
With guns and bows a plenty.
Don’t tie down your words to appease the hunters,
Don't stay silent to try and ignore them.
For you can't live life without risk,
It’s impossible to do so,
So take the risk and let the birds free,
Face the hunters,
And stab them down with your words,
And sooth the others who the hunters shot down.
For more people with words will make it only stronger,
With others soon you you could face an army,
With nothing but your words,
To gain the victory.
