Two forms contest - security

Back Catalogue Poem: "show me your face" growls subside upon revelation does your countenance veil mine? I see beyond sight and temporality still full of sorrow, though drawn in indisputably realised in your embrace no knowledge of how long I'd been adrift but right here, now, I cling to you I hold this moment with tenderness the essence of everything I crave to entrust myself to this gentle mercy reflections of purity and grace, together yet I'm unaltered, how could this be! "change me" I plead in a thousand ways "I don't wish to" you reply again and again a curse of consciousness felt as abandonment lost in the sorrow of perpetual self I yearn to drift out of focus wish to be without features oblivion rejects me, I cannot forget myself this waltz and spiral in time unequivocally bound yet offset form and substance always at odds a guilt laden mismatch of wasted lives layer by layer I seek to disappear ashamed of my self pity and flaws but forever in echoes, I was there for one second of eternity, existing in your arms Senyru version: a tender moment will not rescue the broken despite the way they fall

I like this poem . I like the strong wording and mesmerizing uncertainty of the character. Good luck with the contest.

It’s quiet amazing Dilly, we are said to replace almost every cell in our body, over a 7 year period, yet we somehow remain the same person, your poem reminds me of this paradox, perhaps for one moment we do rid ourselves of our flaws and shame, but it’s somehow only a fleeting experience, your Senryu is powerful and is a perfect equation of the poem, a pleasure to read, cheers David

Thank you David, it's interesting this one still carries as originally an ekphrasis. There do seem to be a few supercharged moments in life where we feel entirely ourselves and without the weight of anything on shoulders. I appreciate your kind words about my words :)
