Twelve Swear To Not Again Money Lend
A praised righteousness is made to end,
Twelve swear to not again money lend,
The First, to often penury pretend,
The Second, to always for himself fend,
The Third, not even his next of kin tend,
The Fourth, starvation of beggars shall extend,
The Fifth, a dying visitor back home send,
The Sixth with all market prices contend,
The Seventh, to philanthropy never bend,
The Eighth, marrying a poor doesn’t intend,
The Ninth, garments of old debtors rend,
The Tenth, on redeemed debts depend,
The Eleventh, never his wife’s sandals mend,
The Twelfth, a promised church building suspend!
A lender who turns a miser,
Has smelt the odds in not being wiser,
Not a dime releasing, wealth stabilizer.
