Occupied Hands Please, forgive me. I have nearly forgotten how to shower love upon you, though I never stopped loving you. When rains were fierce, I could not resolve how to reach for you without dropping the shattered pieces of my heart. When Loss becomes Life Once a feverish lover, there existed a place in my heart for all, every bit of creation, every piece of you. I regret allowing loss to become my life, and how, even in this awareness, shame and sadness, I have not emerged for you. Does Love Really Win In this state of disrepair, I have become afraid of surrender, to allow anyone into the madness, my sadness and perfectly sensible insecurities. I fear playing a game where no one wins, no matter how much we give or how we forgive. Inspired by Silent One's Threesome Contest in which one poem must be written in three lines. Contest was full, but I wanted to post these three threesomes anyway :)

“I fear playing a game no one wins” Powerful - that line will stay with me for awhile. Definitely inspired writing.

The first one is my favorite, though they are all fantastic. There is just something about the first that really speaks to me. The second is a deeper look into the dark feelings and the saddened heart of the poet and the third is a statement of emotions that is close to a warning or a wall being built to keep the sadness at bay for the poet and those on the outside. Not sure if I got any of that right but what I know is right is that all three are beautiful.

Pretty good, my friend ;) All just statements to help explain an emotional status, not so much a warning. Appreciate your taking an in-depth look at these more simple pieces... Thank you so very much :)

Lol. Thank you, Sandra. I did the same thing the night it filled. Just missed it ;) The form is kind of cool and a bit of a challenge, so I figured I might as well post my attempts. Hugs :)

I am impressed by the intellect that created these three poems in precious words:I could not resolve how to reach for you without dropping the shattered pieces of my heart....I fear playing a game where no one wins, no matter how much we give or how we forgive. Superb write, HT.

Sometimes we write the best poems after a contest is full, because we like the challenge of that particular contest. This is one of those times, Hello There.

I really appreciate your comment, Caren. Thank you so much :) Just as I was going to post this, I realized the contest was full, so I held off on putting here until now. I'm really glad you liked it :)
