This and That
Once I touched the light I did
It was so white I ran and hid
You never warned me about life that it was like that
You never told me about the rain or to wear a hat
Wish upon a star they say in the bright of the dark
Wish for the better part of a day in the wilds of a park
Where a fountain of knowledge flows
Where a sky of dots and of circles glows
I had so much and it made me sad all that insignificant gold
I had so much it made me happy all those friends to hold
Sometimes I was cold and I swear I truly needed heat
Sometimes I was hot and slept without even a sheet
Once in a while I felt lost and confused
Once in a while I was found and amused
Tell me about the caterpillar about the butterfly
Tell me that was a fairy I saw and not a made up lie
Words were sworn but they were only floating bubbles
Words were born and suddenly I played in puddles
Each day from joy I cried
Each day filled with love I tried
