Theater of Utter Charm Part 18
Part 18
it helps to see the spectrum of behaviors
as a spectrum first of all
not disorganized not random
not to the degree the clergy would have it
which makes them ridiculous
as well as dangerous
to anyone standing outside the cupola
who is to decide what is unthinkable
ritual penitence might give some relief
if this were the Middle Ages
when specifics were rarely a necessity
when all contours were accessed via templates
who or what is the projectionist
who or what is the projection screen
who or what is the audience
indexed blindly well shite does happen
Nature eats her young and belches hurricanes
leaving us fascinated with trajectories
some riskier than others
blessed conjecture a form of forgetting
forgetting to call it anesthesia
twisted as it may be
in a black mirror of exclusion
all is law there is no chance
statistically speaking
there are however
greater and lesser degrees of magnification
we see more than our ancestors saw
that's bulging eyeball for certain
for anyone able to count to ten
laws of matter laws of mind
pouring through us
from the heavens and the hells
and our thoughts hum right along
on the other side of the door
letting anything door-shaped into our heads
do we perfect or settle in for Winter
it's that simple
fighting and dying to protect our patterns
time to put two and two together
and override the Reichstag party line
and let the totems shout for themselves
in the ancient fetish parade
forgetting where we came from every time
is the next moment derived from this one
I'd be panicky if it didn't
everything is derived
if you breathe and metabolize
that's time for you
everything causing everything else
I'm thinking that this question should begin
at the macro end of the speculum
I mean spectrum
if we were designed to avoid punishment
how come so much pain etc.
it's a long road from prey to predator
our horrors are obviously self generated
how does more detail alter anything
we treat each other like shock absorbers
if smart equals an early recognition of threat
it's no wonder we don't want to know
perfection may not be conceivable
but improvement sure as a graveyard is
so let's play with numbers
like they really counted
the problem is all the echoes
what sort of intention
cannot tolerate the intention of others
if truth enhances predictability
we'll want the pull of the future
to be intense enough to bring us there
