The Wrong Woman
Many nights I prayed to God
Asking Him to bring into my life
A woman who would put an end
To all my pain and strife
That is when I met you
Thinking the prayers were answered for me
But I was driven by desire
So much that I couldn’t see
That it wasn’t God who sent you
Because all you did was bring me down
Because whenever I dealt with you
Only through me could the truth be found
And due to all your lies
My heart suffered all the pain
My life has now been blemished
And you are the cause of the stain
But please don’t get me wrong
I place no blame on you
Because the only way you could cause me pain
Is for me to allow you to
And that is what I did
Because I was hoping for the best
Because I thought you were someone special
But you proved to be no different than the rest
And that’s really a loss for you
Because if you knew what I’m truly capable of
Then you would have never played with my emotions
Nor pretended to be my gift from above
