THE WHEEL OF LIFE
Hanging petals of perfect ermine white
Announce the end of that mean winter time.
Then comes heart-warming sight of bright purple,
The first few blooms of spring’s saffron display.
Our world of grim and grey has gone away,
Giving way to colourful blooms galore.
And now we have lengthening of the day.
With good feelings, forward again we go.
The end of months of hibernation comes
And creatures now emerge eager to eat;
The birds are back and partner up to breed
To make the wheel of life then turn again.
