The Unsupervised Stop Sign

a gathering of thoughts, parallel runs the chaotic narrative: I don't know what's wrong why my heart flutters in my chest affirmations run riot: "you have a lot to deal with" STOP guilt, plagued by guilt stride forward, deal with it all! acknowledge my right to be affected and rest here I lay, thoughts tangling themselves into poetry thud thud thud goes my chest bpm 105 and rising - running invisible marathons, until the words come into focus stop, slow down let guilt and shame rest heartbeat rest fluttering to the ground pieces to be reassembled another day the unsupervised stop sign chose me

This was a rework of a raw write and I entered it quickly into Craig's contest (the entry I was working on I sang and I couldn't seem to finalise it. I've left that one up as it almost worked but lyrically felt off). Glad to receive your feedback on this one as I couldn't tell if it landed well. Thank you

Thank you so much Karen - I appreciate your support. Craig's ask in his contests are complex, so it's always an honour to place :)

You're no imposter you're the real deal. If Craig deems you a winner...you are!

Thank you very much John, very kind of you to say so. I get imposter syndrome when Craig places me in his contests :-)
