The Sirens of the Seas
sailors take warning
before you set sail
say a prayer that
your ship will survive
the ocean's swell and
take heed that the
danger does not
only lie above but
also beneath the blackness
of the fathomless sea
where sirens exist
only to beckon poor
men to their watery graves
they are the temptresses
with flowing dark hair who
sing their daunting songs
along the rocky shores
tempting seamen to join
them far below where
briny seas swallow them whole
do not hearken to these alluring
creatures for they will hypnotize
you with their mournful refrain
forcing you to jump ship into
your aquatic prison forever
entombed within the black
realm of the sirens of the seas
