The Self
The Self
I feel it welling up inside
A rage that hates and binds
I want to set it free
But that’s not who I want to be
I want to let it out
Begin this fated bout
Where knuckles nor nose bleeds
And the only casualties are dreams
Man versus Self
Its how we find ourself
One the bloody plains of the mind
Where chains of rage twist and twine
Tear at your chains
Free yourself of this pain
But don’t make it an exchange
You won’t like the change
Uncap your anger
Yet be its measured anchor
And it will be your measured strength
Be warned of its power and keep it at length
