The More Rewarding Way
I do not fear the wrath of those who love me,
But fear the love of those who thrive on wrath
For some hearts are filled with bitter gall.
They seek their friends among the likeminded,
To accept their expressions of love endangers
My heart of becoming infected, even blinded,
And finding myself sliding into this deadly pall
Feeding on their hatefulness, the wrong path,
When I must take the more rewarding way I see.
