The Lure
I shake my head and wonder: Why?
I do so often with a sigh
The one who tests me is a friend
And this I just can’t understand
The disrespect, the nerve, the gall
My choice of words just says it all
I fume and puff without a noise
I’d love to scream, but I have no choice
I pray for strength while I endure
The fakeness of this friendly lure
The fault is mine, I know, I do
I let this come to be, that’s true
But today this will come to an end
I’ll do away with this false friend
For those who thought I wasn’t strong
Well think again, ’cause you thought wrong.
