The Lonely Lie
Once there was a lonely lie
That crawled off by itself to die.
But, before it even left the room,
Its offspring had begun to bloom.
Soon the truth had lost its place
And it quietly left in sad disgrace.
It’s crowded now in that small room
And honor there you can’t presume.
