The Gumball Machine

Chink! One quarter in the machine ... Crank! Crank! Crank! Gumballs tumble ... Plunk! ... I got one! ... Open the door. Why was it always ... Never the color I wanted?

Very haiku-like with your snappy punchline. Love it.

They tiny folk inside the machine have ESP. They know you wanted yellow so they push out an orange one, so you will come back for your favorite. Such a fun poem Kelly. Enjoyed it. ( Almost as much I bet as you enjoyed the bubblegum!)

Thank you Wendy... Glad you enjoyed it! ... You may be right. It seemed like I always got the white gumballs, which were mint flavored. I didn't like mint when I was a kid and I'm not crazy about it to this day... The pink bubble gum flavor was my favorite, but I rarely got one from a gumball machine. Maybe that's why I started buying it in packs :)

Lol. Love how you made it like I was there listening and getting my own gumball. Exactly like how I use to buy lol. Love all your sound affects...

That's true ... And, I guess, as children, we never understood that. But, it also taught us that we may not always get what we want in life...
