The Eye of Your Own Storm
You're chasing a storm of life but then it catches you first
It starts with a breeze from the breath of your first born
Then seven years later the wind blows stronger and prouder with the birth of your daughter
Your heart melts when those eyes stare back at you with wonder.
Twenty years of storms have calmed as well as fired up again.
You seek direction as your body ages
Searching for younger days and less brutal storms
You cuss and yell and walk out on her but you have no answer why.
You feel these tornadoes of unknowing take control
You've lost faith in the higher power
Your struggle is not your own but all you see is You.
You have forgotten about the winds of change that affected your life positively.
You seek out the negative but these storms are there to give you a chance to rebuild to focus on the now
These winds will always blow but it is your choice to get caught in the same course or blow in a much harder course and become the eye of your own storm.
