The Echo of the Chime
The fading chime, a memory's soft plea,
The garden weeps, where shadows gently sway,
And time's swift river carries you from me.
The petals fall, like tears upon the lea,
The silent hours, where dreams have gone astray,
The fading chime, a memory's soft plea.
The distant hills, where once we used to be,
A whispered name, that echoes through the day,
And time's swift river carries you from me.
The twilight deepens, lost in reverie,
A painted scene, where colors start to fray,
The fading chime, a memory's soft plea.
The stars emerge, like pearls upon the sea,
A longing heart, where love will always stay,
And time's swift river carries you from me.
The night descends, in silent misery,
The sinking hope, that time will melt away,
The fading chime, a memory's soft plea,
And time's swift river carries you from me.
