The Earth and You
We are joined at the hip
(all ribs borrowed);
at the core of time,
(the keeper of light)
abides a jewel
of perpetual return-
So trust
the deepening night
to have a healing way--
slip faithfully
from our hot canvas
of day
(running off
a cooling trickle--
separated lovingly
a blessing
such sleep
we are reconstituted...)
to be awakened
a fresh pallet
of prime and color....
