The Dreamer
The Dreamer
The dreamer sees a different world
Than either you or I.
He sees the other side of things,
And sometimes he wonders why.
The mind that he is given,
He will use it well.
He dreams about how things could be,
And from his dreams only he can tell.
He sees a world so different
That world that comes to him
For his dreams are his alone
Since he is lost in them.
In some ways he transcends this world
And leaves this world behind
For when he dreams he’s gone from here
Which is common in the dreamer’s mind.
He sees a world of beauty
When at times this life is tough,
And even when his eyes are closed,
His thoughts are clear enough.
Sometimes though the time will come
When he sees the other side.
He sees the dark side of this life,
And this darkness he can’t hide.
Oh those dreams that are a dreamer’s,
Those dreams in life I see
For I'm the one who is that dreamer
Who dreams continually.
