The Cabin House
Calm and serene during the day,
I hear no sound from within its walls,
Silence pervades its space,
But the night bears not the same,
I see light reflecting from its windows,
I see a walking shadow,
But still hear no sound from within its walls,
My curiosity draws me closer to watch and see,
One night I heard the voice of a man singing,
It’s the song I hear in my dream,
The song that stirs the pool of my inspiration,
I walk closer to see the mystery man,
As I stand at the door,
The song stops,
The door opens,
I see only a rocking chair,
The one that looks like my grandfather’s.
