for Robert's Book of Souls contest

"The sentient is sent to seek out all the truth" Book of Souls, Iron Maiden sentient sent to seek out truth but instead they look at stone etching their names in clusters as they despaired at being alone they heard the buzz of bees felt the crunch of broken leaves but didn't understand value so protected plastic from thieves still the truth drifts upon the air is in the unfocussed eye of trance inside the seconds right after waking rests deep within love and romance know that the book of souls is empty as each soul resets from the start endlessly chasing the meaning of life whilst tearing themselves apart

Di11y, I'm thinking that seeking truth is difficult at best. Hopefully we're equipped to do it by the time we have significant freedom of choice. If not, there's always tomorrow for us until there isn't. I'm with you if you're saying that we start as ourselves with no carryover from a previous life....but I'm only thinking that it what you are saying. Never certain. Take care.

Haha I'll relay several theories via poetry on pre and post this life Duke - I haven't as yet decided nor particularly think that's it's likely we will ever know. There are so many interesting angles to explore though, but none I think worthy of getting obsessed about. Always just a brief pondering. Thank you for your comment :)

What a deeply meaningful and profound poem this is dear DD, I love the rhymes and rhythm and how your words flow in such a soft manner; while delivering such strong and valid thoughts on so much! I really love how youv also used the title of the song and how youv written "know that the book of souls is empty as each soul resets from the start" soul hitting! Truth yes lingers amidst the unfocused eyes lost in trance! Theres so much woven in here in such a metaphorical manner! Brilliant! BOL
