Thaw

Tired Muscles, Cortexually Speaking

Straining against the ice-cold rhetoric-
Spewing from a winter of discontent; alive
Only because statues never die, they just
Spout specious diatribes from the halls of
Congress, under glaring tv lights; illuminating
Lascivious lip-smacking gargoyled journalists
Intent on destruction, in any way, at every
Opportunity, America....but I did promise a
Thaw! it was the prelude title before the title
Of this penumbras poem...

I need only look outside, to the nearby tree-line

Tubes snaking thru the maple trees, yes! a
Sugarbush!

Nature is real, statues are not!

My spirit seeks joy

I know where to look, vaya con dios...

Hi James, your wonderful words lead the way in this write. I read down your words and my thoughts ask the question, "Do I want the life we have or do I want the life I wish?" Definitely the life I wish. This is a dangerous age in which we live, decisions made by others could cause great damage to the earth. There is always hope, as in your wonderful write. I love the content James. Have a wonderful Sunday. Your friend always....Mike.

Hi Jame, Another great poem and topic I find fascinating and very sad, The thaw is a coming, the climate pattern is frightening and is evident even in our lives today. Unless the word unites as one and ignores their differences, planet earth will go back to the ice age, or some human free age that's for sure! Faith, love and hope is certainly a thread through out your poem also. Very provoking. Kind regards, Jennifer.

Yes! but we missed the New Moon this last weekend in Minnesota, Nette, winter storm skies dropped 2' of fresh snow making the city come to complete stop! I was suffering cabin fever so I geared up and ventured a 3 mile walk-a-bout in a driving blizzard on the 3rd day of white-out blizzards, just to feel it & overcome! absolutely exhilarating! funny, I was the only one out! New Moon waxes tonight in clear, warming skies finally tonite! huggs back! jim

Yes, Brother Man, your HEART & SPIRIT sing the thoughts from Above. Loved so many descriptors - journalists, statues - and the complexity of our contradiction in Hope. "Statues never die ... Nature is real; statues are not." Yes, Sir, we have idol and statue worshippers outside of India too. Happy Good Friday, as we die to self, so we become fruitful, in tiny measure as He. shalom, shalom and Aleluia ; Hosanna to King Jesus
