TELEVISION EYES
In my days of innocent child,
Imagination would run wild.
Seated at the television...
Typical was this decision.
At the time, there was a theory.
This, I would constantly query...
Too much viewing without a care
Would see my eyes shapen to square.
Something not to be argued with...
Discovered since, this was a myth.
Still, I consider without surprise
That I have television eyes.
So much that I have heard and seen
Projected from and off the screen.
In my young days, animation
Was nothing short of sensation.
Morning cartoons on the weekend
Saw me trying hard to pretend
To imitate my heroes drawn
Upon the paper in their spawn.
In between, commercials playing.
Some, I still remember saying...
Advertisements and promotions
Of their lotions - other potions.
I would also find it groovy
Watching genres in their movie.
Seeing these in repetition
Gave me a sense of ambition.
Film director - wanting to be...
This ended up escaping me.
To this day, my eyes remaining
Without desire of refraining
From television broadcasting...
Impacts of it everlasting.
These of which do not go astray...
Snippets in their constant replay.
Scenes of dialogue and their quotes
Of which my eyes have taken notes.
Television - if not for this...
Out on so much, my eyes would miss.
