Tears of Joy For That Little Boy Bc

On the day he came to visit me there was nothing out of the ordinary This day had started rather grey with rain clouds overhead But when I saw him at my door to me this day meant so much more This day became extraordinary ~ a special day forevermore I was busy in the kitchen when I heard his tap ~ tap ~ tapping Making chocolate cookies from a favourite recipe Swiftly wiping sticky fingers I opened up my kitchen door So imagine my surprise as I saw those big blue eyes And those delicate fragile fingers with one digit in particular so magical, so special ~ I will always recognise Your return had left me speechless with a grin from ear to ear To see you at my kitchen door my heart was racing like before and looking up at me with a twinkle in your eye, you said ‘I am here to see my friend, do you know him, is he here for many years have passed us by and now I want to tell him why' And as your gaze looked deeply down inside my hazel eyes I begin to cry with tears of joy for that little boy back then whose hand you held so tight on that magic emotional night As our fingers now make contact like a kiss between old friends On that glorious day last summer when ET came home for me… Written 29th February 2020 Contest Picture Prompt Sponsor Brenda Chiri Contest Strand Choice C Sponsor Brian Strand HONORABLE MENTION

I could not stop reading from the first word onwards. A gorgeous story-poem that had me smiling from end to end.

One of my favourite films Tom and as soon as I saw those fingers my muse went crazy , haha... I too adore that movie, there was something magical that really gets to me each time I watch it and of course somewhere out there well... With kindest thoughts Ann xx
