Take Me Home
Christmas is the season to be 'Jolly'.
Thanksgiving is the season of 'Gratitude'.
Also, Thanksgiving is a season of beauty,
And every facet of its scenery explodes
Every fiber of my sensory soul. Whether
By plane, train, or roadway, we always
find our way home.
Before we ever gaze upon Thanksgiving
At the dinner table, we are forced to behold
the rush to reach out and touch everything 'Family'.
Like no other time of the year, the Thanksgiving
Season overwhelms, pauses, and embraces me.
My eyes stare at its incredible beauty.
My nostrils inhale its captivating fragrances.
My ears are filled with the pleasing sounds of
love and affection echoing through the lips of
family members gathered for more than feasting.
It's a place, a sacred place, a God given sancturary filled with emotions
Felt no where else on earth.
The succulent tastes are much more far-reaching,
bypassing the physical consumption of great foods.
How great the gathering and the goodness of families are!
Hugs and kisses.
The warmth of each embrace.
"Oh, how I have missed you, and
It is so good to see you again".
So, this Thanksgiving, like none
before, allow yourselves to be
Satiated and permeated with
God's precious gift of family.
Happy Thanksgiving.
