Sunflower For a Soldier

Sunflower for a soldier An old woman comes to a soldier They speak the same language But now separated by a monster ‘You must have these sunflower seeds Put them in your pocket.’ He does as she says but looks puzzled ‘Why do I need these seeds?’ ‘Because when you die a flower will grow.’ Their dark politeness, a smile of hate A peaceful people thrust into a war Two peoples, once brothers in arms Bitter enemies now.
