The summer of blazed discovery
rumbles upon vanishing ember,
As I observe an abandoned elk
dart into a shaded morass
cooling its tanned skin
with August baring its flicker:
An assemblage of blossoms pose
to reveal their watercolor tips
bending like petioles of goodbye,
air-stroked by evening's approach.
I feel the hours passing subtly quick
where a different fragrance breathes...
Another cycle heralds its call
yet...the landscape of a canvas
remains unfinished on hills' backdrop
when rosy summer prism lingers…still
