Strawman

Like a straw man just hanging around Watching the field never making a sound Crows a dancing round my head Looking scary but wish they'd of gave me a voice instead Hanging there watching the world go by As the sun floats across the sky I may be stuffed with straw But out here I'm the law Watching over this corn I'm ragged and my clothes are worn Hanging around here leaves me without much to do Hoping the sky stays blue While I'm dreaming of things I want to see All the things I long to be. People in love passing me by Nobody sees me cry My lonely stuffed heart Slowly breaks apart No one to hold my straw hand No one that can understand Straw hearts get lonely too The farmer needs to be a friend that's true Build somebody new A straw lady just for me. Then so happy I'd be Our straw hearts will beat as one Hanging together there in the sun

Lovely! I think Julia Donaldson wrote a children's book about the scarecrows wedding. My daughter didn't like the con man in it though and made me donate it to charity.
