Sound of Silence

I loathe the sound of silence, the heavy thudding beats of silence that pound steadily in my head. it makes me question my sanity for it is louder than my self, louder than prison sirens, louder than howling dogs in the dead of the night! I tune the sub hoofer and push the volume to its maximum, but still the sound of silence surpasses it, the throbbing beats of the hoofer aren't enough to muffle the thumping drumbeats of silence in my head all i can hear booming in my head like African thunder is the silence!

WHoa Regina! Poignant write this! They do say that silence speaks louder - I guess it's because as humans we are used to noise such that the alternative is unbearable. I like the image of the 'African thunder', it brings out the angst well. Well penned poem!
