Somewhere In My Heart
There is a spark of something
That just won’t go away
That lingers, waiting for that spark.
And I just know I’ll go crazy as a lark,
(Even now I sound silly, don’t I?)
And perch on the highest limb
Singing melodies so sweet
The world will smile with me,
(Did I say smile?)
I mean, the world will sing along with me
When it comes.
Somewhere in my heart there is a space
Big enough to hold someone.
(Can that be really true?)
A hole that will not let me be whole -
Somewhere in my heart lark’s
A silly song waiting to fly
(Did I really say that?)
Somewhere in my heart lurks
A merry song,
That only a duo can sing
That means you and me.
Somewhere in my heart there
Is a spark that just won’t go away
