Snow Angels
We laid in the deep snow,
powder white, like “new” can only be.
It was fun for you, it was fun for me.
I wish that every day…
could be powder white.
We went back inside.
The house smelt like magic, and wonder!
The cookies they were fresh.
The icing was butter cream.
It tasted like vanilla… beans.
You helped mom.
I helped her too.
We laughed.
It was a good time.
Snowflakes on the window sill,
time was getting late.
Hot cocoa, and peppermint,
beside the fire.
Maybe…
She will tell us the story,
of all things that matter.
The real birth, the real death,
and the real resurrection.
The story of Our King.
Wonder, sadness, and joy.
Then we will be together,
and quiet
and pray…
They will come.
He will come.
Among us.
