Sleep
"for he gives his beloved sleep".
? Psalm 127:2c, ESV ?
Sleep had run its course,
And the morning had come.
She was sweet through the night,
Flowing like a gentle and peaceful river.
And like a river rushing to the sea,
She swept away my burdens and cares.
When sleep has reached every cell
And put to rest every fiber of my being;
When every seam of every part of me
Has been seen and served, permeating
The depths of every vein and nerve;
When my soul has been relaxed and
Soothed from constant and common
Assaults, healing my negative thoughts;
May my poised soul arise with never a care,
Ascending void of worry and without hurry.
