Shy Unicorn
Shy Unicorns
When Noah built his sturdy ark,
he was supposed to save
two of every creature.
Somehow he missed the shy unicorns.
God with His all-seeing eye,
watched him mess up.
He took two of them and placed them
high on a mountain top
with grass and food.
They stayed there for a thousand years
in perfect sweet content.
Without caring they'd been left behind
they kicked up their heels,
romped and played
and had baby unicorns.
After the flood God moved them
down to the forests
where they could hide and be safe.
If you should see a unicorn by chance,
do not go out and blab it.
Remember he is in God's care.
There are folks who would want
to catch him and cage him,
convinced people would pay
good money to come and stare at him.
God would probably take pity,
find a new hiding place
and we would never have a chance again
to glimplse the elusive unicorn.4/6/2017
