Should'Ve Seen It Coming
The signs were always there if I’d but seen.
But blinded by desire I overlooked…
And life is nothing like the silver screen,
The scene is done but somehow I’m still hooked.
It doesn’t take a prophet or a seer
To see there is no future now for us.
For you have made it absolutely clear
By throwing my heart underneath the bus…
So, from the very start I should have known
That we would come to be right where we are.
And I can’t help but think the fault my own.
As I sit in the back of this squad car…
I knew that crazy does as crazy is
I thought the risk might just be worth the gain.
I should have studied harder for the quiz.
I wasn’t ready for the world of pain…
I should've seen it coming I suppose...
The truth jumped up and punched me in the nose...
