Shooting Stars

Shooting stars By Michelle Morris 03/12/2022 Like shooting stars Across the sky We lit up the night We lit up our lives We met when I was young A teenage girl With eyes for you I entranced you Sparked your desire You coveted me And all my fire I gave in and You gave me all Our love took us high To mountains tall 'Cos we lifted Each other up Up to the mountain top But sadly when we stayed there The air was too thin and clear So long, my love of mine I'll love you 'til the end of time But our paths must now diverge We have so many other Adventures to learn from Like shooting stars Across the sky We lit up the night We lit up our lives But we went our Separate ways Destiny's toll Had to be paid New loves for us Different cities We kept in touch Our baby duties Now here we are Decades later We've grown so much Our lives are happy 'Cos we lifted Each other up Up to the mountain top But we had to fly free Set off to other worlds and people So long, my love of mine I'll love you 'til the end of time Even though we stay in touch We have so many other Adventures to learn from Lost love of mine We're shooting stars Lost love of mine Shooting stars for all time © Michelle Morris, 2022
