She Alone Could Hear
She was movin' to the music
That only she alone could hear
She was backlit by the street light
A Bordertown not far from here
He was passin' through from Dallas
A lonely man on dark highways
And he watched with fascination
The street light bathed her with its rays
He strolled gently up beside her
And seemed to hear the music there
Then she nodded when she saw him
As two alone became a pair
She was movin' to the music
That only she alone could hear
She was backlit by the street light
A Bordertown not far from here
Oh, the night became less lonely
The lightning flashed up on the hill
Then he put his arms around her
As they both heard the music still
Then the two became a chorus
A lonely man on empty roads
Met a dancer 'neath the streetlight
Seems they were sharin' the same loads
She was movin' to the music
That only she alone could hear
She was backlit by the street light
A Bordertown not far from here
