Serenity
Serenity where are you hiding?
The edges I feel are jagged and
Abrasive, not conducive with
The peace I seek to find.
My mind is always busy:
Thoughts rushing like commuters
To a waiting train as the guard
Signals it’s time to leave.
Where is the solace and the solitude?
The time to think, to regroup,
To just ‘be’, in the moment,
When the moments are rushing by at speed.
I long to be still; to slow the pace,
Leave the race and remember who I am.
To dance in slow motion and move
To the rhythm of a gentle tempo.
Serenity where are you hiding?
When did you sneak away?
How did I miss your leaving?
I must have been racing for that train.
