Not written as a contest entry
Swirling winds waltzed with tumbling golden leaves
Each one torn from limbs by the rustling thieves
Painted scenery, every September
Tinged russet like a smoldering ember
Enchanting, the hues of forests and hills
Mother Nature colors landscapes with frills
Brushed each Autumn, with her artistic hands
Exhibiting beauty across her lands
Rouged, the season as if in crimson blush
Fall's grandeur often arrives with a rush
Apple orchards have ripened for picking
Lasting thirty days, the clock is ticking
Limited is the time and splendor of
September: windswept month I've come to love
