Sea Glass Poetry Contest
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Look at you! Naturally processed from pieces of broken bottles,
glassware or things breakable to frosted glasses with round edges.
Distinctive creation that could take from two decades to probably
centuries of tumbling by the power of moving water, like the sea.
The blue hues of the sea and the gentle waves calm and soothe.
The beauty of the stillness of the sea allows time of inner peace.
Yet, the sea can turn dark gray, tumultuous with raging waves.
The fury of the perilous storm churns up the sea, like inner turmoil.
Life, like the sea is unpredictable with series of ups and downs.
Life is up, when it is good or easy breezy. Everything seems right.
Work or career or business, finances, health, family, relationships.
Life is down or a struggle and some people struggle a lot in life.
Life’s struggles can be from our choices, decisions or from
out of our control circumstances that set us back, knock us
down many times through our life journey, like a piece of the
broken glass that rolls and tumbles in the sea for many years.
Struggles give us courage, strength, determination, persistence,
confidence, wisdom, independence and let us evolve, embrace
who we become, like how all the edges of the broken glass are
rounded off with frosted appearance and becomes sea glass.
