SALLY THE RECYCLER
In city park she’s here each day
Searching through every litter bin.
To see what gem may hide away
She rummages deep down within.
With ginger coat and auburn hair,
Is this an urban fox we see?
She scatters litter everywhere
As bin contents are now set free.
With her shopping trolley in tow
Useable items she collects
But dog waste bags she’ll promptly throw
And nasty plastic she rejects.
All of those drink cans are of worth
As they can bring some money back.
Part eaten pizzas she’ll unearth
As they provide a welcome snack.
Recycling stuff is Sally’s game.
Free pickings she grabs every day.
It’s how she lives; she feels no shame.
In city park she’s here each day.
