Rose Colored Glasses
You put on rose-colored glasses
that result in tunnel vision.
And see what your heart wants to see,
ignoring reality's glare.
To disguise life's weedier side,
you put on rose-colored glasses.
And focus your sight straight ahead,
as though you were wearing blinders.
As you weigh alternative truths,
your heart so much wants to believe.
You put on rose-colored glasses
to camouflage anguish and fears.
Giving hopes and wishes control,
reality escapes your view.
And when traversing rough patches,
you put on rose-colored glasses.
