Role Reversal

His hands clasped tightly, one in mine, one in mother's. Days of baby steps made us nod in encouragement -- we let go. Daddy took his first balanced steps post crash. A memory of joy, watching him walk again.
dad's first leap of hope puddles of joy held my breath-- gleaming roles reversed

Aditi, you have really covered a lot of ground in this short write. I was imagining myself as the father in your scenario, and feeling the amazing love and support of my daughter and wife as I struggled to teach my muscles the fundamentals of walking again. Loved the line "puddles of joy held my breath", this is sensational haibun writing. You have inspired me to think harder about this contest. Your friend, John

This is a memory after my father's accident two years back when I saw him being vulnerable for the first time in my life. My mother and my brother helped me in letting him find his strength to walk again. It was a moment of sheer joy and I imagined how parents felt when their children walk for the first time. Thank you for your kind appreciation. I am looking forward to read your wonderful muse dear friend :)
