River's Magic

  I learned to love the river
    waves lapping ‘neath our boat
  Glint of sun set the scene a-sparkle
    as over the waters we’d float 

  Some days the fish were biting
    others, they stayed out of range
  No matter the catch, river’s magic
    never did papa or me shortchange

Also I wanted to say I gave you a thank you for inspiring my poem opaque shadows. You said you read and read it again. Trying to figure out what it meant.
