Rising from ashes

I held on tight, tried to keep it all, Gave my heart and soul, answered every call. Longed for love, acceptance, a gentle hand, But found betrayal, where I'd hoped to stand. I poured my love, like a precious wine, Reserved for me, after years of brine. But they drank it dry, left no drop behind, And now I search for love, of a different kind. I questioned not, my faith never waned, In God's embrace, my strength remained. I'll fight for life, with every breath I take, For my survival is not theirs to break. I need no more, their hollow affection, My heart seeks truth, in a new direction. I'll find myself, amidst the broken shards, And walk in love, guided by the stars. Eyes wide open, I'll embrace the pain, And rise above, like a cleansing rain. For I am worthy, of love's tender grace, And I'll find it within, in my sacred space. No longer seeking, in others' gaze, I'll love myself, through all my days. So let me journey, on this path unknown, To find my strength, and come home to my own.
