Returning Home At Christmas
As home I approach,
Alighting from my motor coach,
I’m enchanted by the golden glow,
Of icicles along the house, reindeer and trees lit up below.
The door bedecked with balsam wreath, a friend’s gift,
These decorations bring wonder - my spirits lift.
Indoors, my Norfolk pine’s multicolor lights,
Send forth yule magic through my window at night.
Web radio’s old fashioned carols, I sing each round,
Classic Christmas films savored once sitting down.
Pellet stove and pine candles scent the air,
Mulled cider and dozens of cookies await my guests to share.
May such relaxing moments you cherish,
As loved ones human and furry your devotions relish.
